Staff Captain – Johan Malmberg Staff Captain Johan Malmberg joined Royal Caribbean in 2000 after serving as a watch keeping officer on Swedish cargo ships and cruise ships. Malmberg first joined Royal Caribbean on Explorer of the Seas, where he served as 2nd Officer. He has also been part of several start-up teams including Adventure of the Seas, the three Freedom-class ships as well as Allure of the Seas. Malmberg was promoted to staff captain where he has since served onboard Monarch of the Seas, Allure of the Seas and Enchantment of the Seas. He spends most of his free time with his family at their summer home, which he designed himself.
